Open Daily 'til Late,

.gifNew York Style Buffalo Wings were until recently one of the few gastronomic items that were impossible to find in our fair city; but not any more. Made from fresh chicken and coated with a secret recipe, they can now be ordered Mild, Hot or Atomic at Pinky's, located just a stroll away from Taphae Gate. Guaranteed to get the taste buds going, these are ideal as a snack whilst watching some live sports or with an ice cold beer. Draught Guinness is now being served at astonishingly good value at this cozy restaurant & sports bar, one of only a handful of joints in town to do so whilst other imported beverages include Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Corona Mexican and a selection of wines.

.gifPinky's Famous Castle Mini Burgers is their second unique culinary item served as a single fun sized bite or as a tasty trio. Made up of beef patties, onions, pickle, and fresh baked buns, these are great as a late night nibble.

.gifEverything is made from scratch in house, apart from the buns and breads that are delivered fresh daily from a local bakery. There is a decent array of pub grub such as burritos and hot dogs, but it's the Royal Gourmet Burgers that in addition to the wings and the mini castles that sets the food here apart from the rest, and The King Royal Burger containing a massive one pound (nearly 1/2 kilo) of beef will challenge most.

.gifOpen until late you are urged to pop in and sample some of the top notch nosh and a few quality beers, especially if you are need of a homesick remedy or two.

Rich Coffee House
Sri Phum Rd.
(inner side of the moat, between Sriphum corner and Chang Puak gate)
Open daily 7 am - 8 pm
Tel. 053-227-245

.gifThe city of Chiang Mai is today packed with a variety of coffee houses all providing great coffees and each with their own unique design making them individual and memorable. Among those that are creatively unique in terms of their decorative style is Rich Coffee House, a contemporary Thai wooden house offering a cozy atmosphere within a green locale.

.gifTop of the owner's concerns is quality, and as such only fine ingredients are used; an example being the peaberry coffee bean of which the whole coffee bean is used as opposed to using the standard half bean. Such coffee beans make up 10% of the total product and so are more expensive.

.gifAfter a cup of aromatic brew, don't miss the cafe's homemade cakes in which low-fat whipping cream is used. Make sure to try the young coconut cake, two soft layers of cake with whipping cream in the middle and young coconut on top. New York Cheese Cake, macadamia cheese pie and mango ice-cream are the other recommended items.

.gifSmoothies are also worth trying as they are extremely fruity and refreshing, as is the homemade ice-cream. And for those looking for something a bit heavier, don't worry because there are a few other dishes available, such as sandwiches at Rich Coffee House.
