LIVING IT UP:
Ban Jed Yod

.gifThey say, “Good living leads to a good life.”

.gifClose to nature and the mountains, situated a bit out of town but not rural, near Wat Jed Yod in Chang Phuak district is a fully-equipped monthly service apartment called ‘Ban Jed Yod’

.gifBan means home in Thai, therefore staying here is like staying at home - a peaceful place where neighbors respect each other’s privacy. “After 9 in the evening, I rarely hear any sounds even from a television set. Residents here live quietly, far from the rowdiness of some places,” says the owner

.gifIn this six-level building there are different kinds of rooms to suit different guests: ‘Studio’, Deluxe 1 and 2, and ‘Executive’. Each room is fully furnished with built-in furniture, cable TV, kitchenette with stove, refrigerator and hooded cooker, a spacious bathroom with luxurious shower and bathtub, air conditioning, and work table… all handpicked by the owner. High speed internet is also provided throughout the building for home or office use or simply internet surfing.

.gifAnd if you take an elevator to the sixth floor, you will come to a Jacuzzi swimming pool which is just the perfect place to relax and put your emotional or work stress behind you, in an ambience of cool water and with a panorama of Chiang Mai a blink away. Being up here, you will also notice a half deck above which turns out to be the penthouse of Ban Jed Yod’s owner. “I live here,” he says, and by living here himself he can look after everything that goes on inside and outside his apartment. Thus you can be assured the owner is taking the closest care of you and all the other residents.

.gifTo double your safety concerns, there is a security guard checking the building 24 hours a day, as well as a security keycard for each apartment.

.gifAnd if you’re driving, whether it’s a car, motorcycle or bicycle, there’s a car park provided in front of the building, so no need to be anxious about having parked somewhere outside that puts you at risk of someone damaging or stealing your vehicle.

.gifAesthetics aren’t neglected either. Colours - mostly greens, greys and white - have been chosen to give the apartments a soothing but modern atmosphere. Not surprisingly either, since asked about the décor, the owner says that green is his favourite colour. “It’s natural, good to look at and it’s just perfect for Chiang Mai.”

.gifAnd your physical comfort hasn’t been neglected either. Down on the ground floor there’s a coffee shop, also called Ban Jed Yod, and aside from the usual (and indispensable) coffee and snacks, there are some books and magazines you can enjoy reading when your friend hasn’t turned up yet, or you’re having a comfortable day by yourself. A cool atmosphere, and a warm and cheerful staff to serve you. And if you get really hungry and want a meal, you just stroll out to the front of the building, where the Ban Jed Yod restaurant is ready to provide with just what you’re looking for.

.gifOh, and by the way, you’re sure to want to visit the nearby, historically and architecturally important, Wat Chet Yot - the Temple of the Seven Spires. And having satisfied your historical interests, coming back to the present day you can take a very short drive to the Nimmanhaemind Road where - more than for any other street in busy, bustling Chiang Mai city - it’s all going on.

.gifBan Jed Yot, remember! The staff will be waiting to welcome you.
