.gif2nd VISAKHA BUCHA DAY On the full moon of the 6th lunar month, one of the most important Buddhist holy days, believed to be the day the Buddha was born, obtained enlightenment and died, passing into Nirvana. Shortly after sunset, make merit and circle a jedi or a temple while holding flowers, candles, and incense sticks. This ritual is called wian thian. In the evening, worshippers gather to light candles and walk in pilgrimage up to the temple - Wat Phra That - on Doi Suthep.
