RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTS
Godam
Oriental cuisines have a variety of styles and tastes, depending on the individual nations. If you would like to get the feel of East Asia through its foods, Godam is the place to be. “Godam” means ‘original taste’ in Chinese so here you will meet the genuine traditional tastes of oriental cuisine, especially the Chinese and Korean versions.
Godam is the only Chinese-Korean restaurant in Chiang Mai serving you oriental dishes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, enhanced by the relatively small size of the restaurant and its simplicity of design.
People especially head here for the spectacular dish, “Chocolate Noodles”. Not that the noodles literally are made from chocolate at all, but the color is dark and that gives it its name.
The restaurant dares to assure you there are many delicious dishes here you’ll regret not trying before you die! All special dishes are offered at reasonable prices, appropriate to the amount of food offered and its scintillating flavours.
Godam is located on Changklan Road, on the left side if you’ve turned right out of Chiang Mai Land. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closes only on every first and third Sunday. If you’re looking for something special to eat, come and find gustatory satisfaction with Godam’s authentic Chinese-Korean cuisine.

Bacchus Beer
& Wine Bar
Nimmanhaemin is one always-crowded avenue in Chiang Mai where you’ll find lots of creative shops and chic restaurants. Sure enough, given its hi-so aspirations, the street’s going to offer you plenty of places which offer escape from the hustle and bustle, one of them the Bacchus Beer & Wine Bar on Soi (Lane) 9, which provides a blend of luxury and comfort to chill in.
If you’re a Greek and Roman Mythology buff, you probably know Bacchus is the god of wine. Having the god of wine as its name, Bacchus is implying that this is an exceptionally special place for wine lovers. So just have your glass filled and savour one (or more) of your favourites vintages on a lawn and under a big tree at the end of the evening.
By the way, the wine may have an even better bouquet as an accompaniment to such recommended savoury dishes as Deep Fried “Nasischivan”, Deep Fried “Banishappen”, an assorted Cheese Plate, and Spicy Iceberg Salad with Bacon. Then again, if you’re looking for something a bit more robust than wine, why not sip some foaming ice-cold beer with cheese or some snacks. On the other hand, if drinks are out for various reasons, try one of the Bacchus fruit juices, while chatting soberly with your friends or just letting the sounds of jazz and Bossa Nova wash over you.
So you see, if what you want are quality food and drinks in an agreeable setting, you’ll be wise to give Bacchus Beer & Wine Bar a try. It’s open daily from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m., and shares its location with 94 Coffee.
