The Month of Documentaries Volume II

A documentary about the governor of Illinois, George Ryan, who in his last 60 days in office, made the decision to prove the innocence of 3 death row prisoners. The debate is not the punishment but if it is legal to keep an innocent in the jail.

Temenos is the place of rituals. This film takes you to places where the Virgin Mary has appeared, and points to the ancient evidence that links her to the Mother Goddess.

Eleven directors from 11 countries contribute a short 11 minute film reflecting the 11 September 2001 events. Each movie presents the realistic situation of persons who deal with, or suffer the consequences of the disaster.

A war photographer, James Nachtwey whose camera has documented horror wars, devotes his life to his photos. For this reason, his photos have won worldwide acclaim.

Director Wim Wendor travels to Japan in search of the ever-changing lifestyles of the Japanese. He met Ozu, the late great director of "Tokyo Monogatari" (1953). After the meeting, Wim decided to make this film. The story is about how Japan has seen the diminution of its humanity and family traditional values and become a surreal world.

Augustin Bouvet, painter and Stanislas Lefort, conductor at the Paris Opera, were leading a quiet life in wartime Paris, until the day they take charge of three British airmen shot down over Paris by the Germans. Chiang Mai is not without good cinemas for film buffs. Although only two cinema operators are competing to attract the big-screen fans, a wide variety of choices are on offer daily from noon to midnight.

A now household name for movie theater buffs in Thailand, Major Cineplex offers a relatively new cinema complex on the fourth floor of Central Airport Plaza. Although the theaters are generally of lower capacity, they boast more comfortable seats and superior audio-visual systems.
