Rare Local Plants

Thailand is been endowed with great plant diversity. The vascular plants, especially, have as many as 15,000 species. Many of them are of economic and medicinal importance. So let us introduce some of them and if you want to see them you can visit Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden which has sent us the following pictures and information.

.gifFound in Burma and the North of Thailand on Doi Inthanon and Doi Langa Luang, Chiang Mai.

.gifThis is a rare plant recorded only once by Dr. A.F. H.Keer in May, 1921 at Doi Angkha, Inthanon National Park.

.gif15 – 30 cm high, purple flowers with shuttle shape, blooming from May – June.
