.gifNaan bread, lamb curry, chicken vindaloo, roti, samosa and chai (‘tea’). If these words are perking up your appetite right now, here in the capital city of Northern Thailand, but you don’t have a clue as to where to follow your penchant and sit down at some colorful Indian restaurant with waitress dressed in sari…

.gifThen I suggest you go along the Chang Klan road, looking out for the enormous and beautiful Shangri-La Hotel on your left. Every Thursday the Kad Kafé restaurant of the Shangri-La Hotel, in the person of Chef Bal Krishna Malla prepares you ‘A Taste of India’ buffet from 6 pm to 10 pm at the reasonable price of 466 baht per head.

.gifThe restaurant is extensive and luxuriously decorated. The yummy food set out on the tables will have you drooling. The array of luscious curries - whether orange chicken curry, yellow curry with sticky and soft lamb meat, red egg curry with tomato and lots more – well, you just have to sample them. With each of them you are served with naan – India’s famous baked flat bread - crispy roti, rice with beans and cinnamon, vegetarian samosa and other fried vegetables. And forget forks and spoons! It’s Indian cuisine. You use your fingers.

.gifNow if you are craving something sweet, try some of their super tasty tiramisu Crème Brulee. Believe me, one piece is not enough but luckily for you, it’s a buffet, so eat as much as you want!

.gifPlus the restaurant changes its meals every day. If you want to try something different come on Monday for the American buffet, Tuesday for Asian cuisine, Wednesday for the Mediterranean buffet, Friday for Seafood, Saturday for international food and Sunday for the Northern and classic Thai buffet.

.gifAll you need do is bring your appetite with you.

.gifHere you can eat as much grilled meat as you want without having to sweat in front of the grill yourself, soaking up smoke and painting yourself black with charcoal.

.gifDress nicely or casually, select your table, seat yourself in a comfy chair with red, blue and beige cushions and let the friendly waiters attend to you. While dining you will get a touch of modern décor but nothing too ultra, from the black tiling on the floor with its dark blue stripes. Orange rectangular lamps and parquet walls give the room cozy warmth.
