.gifIn most cultures, a family favorite for all festive seasons is a barbecue. Pork, chicken, beef, seafood or any kinds of meat can be used, but what makes barbecues of each part of the world different is how they marinate the meat. Northern Thai people are no different and have their own way of making a tasty marinade. Although grilled pork on skewers can be easily found in most local markets it is simple and fun to make yourself. Note that you can apply the following recipe with any kinds of meat.

Pork liver

Chopped cilantro roots

teaspoon

Garlic

Salt

teaspon

Soy sauce

tablespoon

Sweet soy sauce

tablespoon

Instructions

1. Prepare the pork and liver by cutting them into 1 inch x 2 inch pieces.

2. Use a blender to blend the cilantro roots, salt and garlic to make the marinade mix.

3. Marinade the pork pieces in soy sauce, sweet soy sauce and marinade mix for 1 hour.

4. Skew pork pieces onto wooden skewers.

5. Place the pork on a hot grill (electric, gas, or coal) and cook for 8-10 minutes.

6. The grilled pork is ready to serve and Northern Thai people normally it eat with sticky rice.
